Floating Offshore Wind Shot Summit Held

Multiple federal agencies support transmission study and partner with research facilities.

The Department of Energy announced multiple efforts to move forward with floating offshore wind development. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm made this announcement as she opened the Floating Offshore Wind Shot Summit, where stakeholders and members of the Department of Energy, Interior, Commerce, and Transportation convened to calibrate their mutual goals for clean energy technology.

“Floating offshore wind offers untapped opportunities for us to produce clean, reliable and affordable power for millions,” said Secretary Granholm. “President Biden wants America to become a global leader of offshore wind technology and deployment, and with his historic climate investments, DOE is capturing this potential to spur private investment, boost the domestic supply chain, and deliver on our bold clean energy goals.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the secretaries of the Interior, Commerce, and Transportation Departments as they collaborate with the secretary of Energy.
  • For wisdom for the president and his administration as they pursue offshore wind energy.
  • For prudence for U.S. officials as they weigh the benefits to liabilities of floating wind farms.
