USDA’s Highest Employee Honor Awarded

40 winners were nominated by fellow employees for Secretary Honor Awards.

Secretary Tom Vilsack recently presented 40 employee teams at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) with the Secretary’s Honor Award, the USDA’s highest honor. The nominees for the award are selected by their fellow employees, and employees from agencies and organizations collaborating with the USDA are also eligible for nomination. Secretary Vilsack chose the winners by how their work best advanced the USDA’s six strategic goals.

“Hard-working and dedicated employees are at the heart of the service we aim to provide agricultural producers and all Americans,” Secretary Vilsack said. “The work being honored this year includes identifying the bioenergy potential of a crop, improving the resilience of supply chains, and an act of valor attempting to rescue pilots of a helicopter downed while fighting the Moose Fire in Idaho in July 2022.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Vilsack as he oversees and encourages the staff and personnel of the USDA.
  • For USDA officials to seek God’s direction as they pursue the department’s stated goals.
