Tuesday, February 14

Today, President Joe Biden is going to deliver a speech at the General Session of the National Association of Counties (NACo) legislative conference in Washington, D.C. County officials from around the nation are attending the conference to provide input on policies, meeting with members of Congress and officials from federal agencies.

During the president’s State of the Union address, he said, “My economic plan is about investing in places and people that have been forgotten.” He continued, “Amid the economic upheaval of the past four decades, too many people have been left behind or treated like they’re invisible.” President Biden will discuss how his administration is supporting the country’s underserved communities.

Several presidents have visited the NACo conference over the decades, including Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Barack Obama.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for the president as he speaks with county officials and executives from across the country.
  • For the county officials to seek God’s wisdom for their governments and policies.
  • For Secretaries Austin and Blinken as they advise the president on military and diplomatic matters.
