February 14th – Tuesday

I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. – Philippians 4:12-13

On Valentine’s Day in 1990, NASA’s Voyager 1 spacecraft took a special photograph of Earth, known as Pale Blue Dot. The spacecraft had been launched in 1977, with the mission to explore the outer reaches of the solar system. By 1990 it had passed Neptune, arriving at the place it was to take a series of images of the entire solar system. Pale Blue Dot depicted Earth as a small speck the size of a pixel, offering a different perspective for humanity to consider. Seeing how small this earth is amid the vastness of space is a beautiful reminder of how big and wonderful our God is. If He can hold the whole universe in His hands, He can certainly care for any problem and every person in the U.S. and the world. This Valentine’s Day, praise God as you continue to place your trust in Him and His ability to work through the nation’s leaders.

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • For NASA Administrator Bill Nelson as he oversees the development of space exploration plans and preparations for upcoming launches.
  • For astronauts from the U.S. and other nations as they work together on the International Space Station.
