Today, President Joe Biden is traveling to New York City, where he will highlight the Hudson River tunnel project and how it will benefit the thousands of passengers who utilize mass transit on a daily basis.

President Biden will announce the $292 million grant going toward the Gateway Program, funded under the infrastructure legislation he signed in 2021. The White House stated that the funding will support the completion of a casing near Hudson Yards.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York said that the development has taken a decade to pull together. “The Northeast Corridor is the busiest passenger rail line in the country, and the crossing under the Hudson is its most important nexus point,” Senator Schumer stated. “After a lot of hard work, and a lot of stubborn persistence, our efforts are finally paying off.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For safe travels for the president as he goes to New York today.
  • For President Biden and Senator Schumer as they celebrate the progress of the Gateway Project.
  • For wisdom for the president’s advisors and Cabinet secretaries as they determine where to invest infrastructure funding.
