DOE Announces Application Guidances for Energy Efficiency Grants

The department will host informational meetings and request public comment for implementation.

On Thursday, the Department of Energy (DOE) issued guidances for those applying to the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program. They also issued a request for public comment to inform their implementation of the new Home Energy Rebate Programs. State, local, and Tribal governments can now begin applying for funding to install energy-efficient technology in their communities, and the DOE hopes that insightful members of the public can help guide their similar energy-efficiency grants for private housing.

“Our states and communities are at the forefront of the clean energy revolution and are critical touchpoints with our nation’s consumers and businesses,” said Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm. “With historic funding thanks to President Biden’s clean energy laws, more Americans will have easier access to realize cost savings through state-administered home energy rebates and community-centered, energy efficiency and electrification programs.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Granholm as she guides the vision of the Department of Energy.
  • That local governments interested in energy efficiency receive adequate funding through these grant programs.
  • That the Lord guides informed members of the public to comment on the DOE’s new grant program.
