Wednesday, January 18

President Joe Biden has authorized disaster declarations for the states of Georgia, Alabama, and California this week. The two southern states experienced severe storms, straight-line winds, and tornadoes last week, while California was hit with flooding and mudslides at the beginning of the month.

The president stated that the “assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster. Federal funding also is available to State and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis.“

President Biden is at the White House today. He has no public events on his agenda at this time.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his advisors as they assess the damage done by natural disasters and approve federal aid.
  • For Administrator Deanne Criswell to have discernment as she manages FEMA.
  • For the residents of these states who are surviving and recovering from the adverse weather conditions.
