HUD Awards Funding for 98 Public Housing Authorities

$24.7 million will provide affordable housing for thousands with disabilities.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recently announced that $24.7 million in awards will be providing affordable housing for people with disabilities. The funding will be distributed to 98 public housing authorities to construct permanent housing that meets the needs of those with disabilities, which will help an estimated 2,210 families become housed and established in a local community.

“People with disabilities deserve access to affordable housing that meets their needs,” said HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge. “Today’s funding is an important step forward – one that will help more persons with disabilities serve as fully integrated members of their communities and allow them to live independently and with dignity.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Fudge to seek the Lord for wisdom to run her department.
  • For HUD officials to be prudent in their investments in and support of affordable housing.
  • For the president and his advisors as they create policies that address disabilities.
