Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind that by testing you may discern what is the will of God that is good and acceptable and perfect. – Romans 12:2

In modern society, it can be immensely challenging to hear God through the noise and today’s verse addresses this. Not being conformed to this world means to not behave merely according to what is socially acceptable nor abide by worldly standards. In this context, to be transformed is defined as “making a thorough or dramatic change, appearance, or character“ by renewing or fixing your attention and thoughts upon God. By doing this, you will be changed from the inside out. As you live life, applying His Word, your ability to discern, perceive, or recognize the will of God increases so that you prove what is good, acceptable, pleasing, welcome, and perfect. Jesus did not conform to the world He was in. He went about doing His Father’s work to transform the world. Pray today for the nation’s leaders to seek God’s will and conform to His ways.

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • For members of Congress to be upright in character, representing their constituents with honesty and integrity.
  • For newly elected officials as they settle into their new roles and learn to serve in their positions.
