DOT Announces Funding for Intercity Rail Modernization

Notice of Funding Opportunity opens Partnership Grant Program.

The Department of Transportation published a Notice of Funding Opportunity this week worth almost $2.3 billion for the modernization of intercity rail. The Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail Grant Program is being funded under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which will help states fix track and track structures as well as fund proposed high-speed rail projects between cities across the country.

“This is one of the two most significant investments in the past 50 years to modernize passenger train service across the country,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “Americans deserve excellent passenger rail services, and through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we’re working to deliver it.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Secretary Buttigieg as he oversees the awarding of infrastructure funding.
  • For transportation officials as they support the intercity, high-speed railway projects.
  • For the president and his administration to seek God’s wisdom as they pursue infrastructure goals.
