Treasury Secretary Speaks at Ohio Manufacturing Event

She also held a manufacturing roundtable.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen traveled to Cleveland on Thursday to continue to promote the focus of President Biden’s administration on domestic manufacturing. In preparation for the congressional elections set to take place on November 8, Secretary Yellen joined Senator Sherrod Brown to deliver the opening speech at the Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network. She then held a roundtable discussion with Cleveland-area manufacturers during the event.

Secretary Yellen highlighted specific investments made by the Treasury Department in recent months, including an initial $20 billion investment into Intel Corp’s planned semiconductor manufacturing plant.

The secretary stated, “Our semiconductor investments demonstrate that government and business can work together to nurture and grow new industries. It also demonstrates that we can work together to broaden economic opportunity and create good-paying jobs.“

The 1,000-acre plant will be located in New Albany and represents the largest investment ever made in the state of Ohio.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the treasury secretary to be prudent in promoting the economic investments of the administration.
  • For Treasury Department officials as they support semiconductor manufacturing.
  • For the Lord’s will to be accomplished in the economy of the United States.
