Federal District Judge Rules in Foreign Agent Lawsuit

Finds the case is outside the statute of limitations.

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg ruled last week that casino tycoon Steve Wynn cannot be ordered to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

The Department of Justice sued Wynn in May, claiming that he lobbied former President Donald Trump on behalf of China in 2017. Judge Boasberg said that he was not determining whether or not Wynn did in fact lobby on China’s behalf, but did find that 2017 was too long ago to order foreign agent registration, violating the statute of limitations in that specific regard.

Attorneys for the casino magnate reiterated their denial of the lobbying allegations. “This is a claim that should never have been filed, and the court agreed,” they said. The Department of Justice spokesperson said the department will consider its options in light of the ruling.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For U.S. district court judges to be wise in their rulings.
  • For officials in the Justice Department to be discerning in their pursuit of cases.
  • For God’s truth and justice to be accomplished in the United States.
