Congress Passes Stopgap Funding Bill

The president is expected to sign it Friday.

On Thursday, the Senate passed a short-term spending measure that will avoid a partial government shutdown next week and boost aid to Ukraine. The House passed the measure on Friday.  The president’s signature is expected sometime Friday, ahead of the Friday night deadline.

The continuing resolution extends interim appropriations levels through December 16, giving the current Congress another opportunity to set a budget for the fiscal year that begins October 1.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for members of Congress as they continue to fund the government.
  • For discernment for the president and his advisors as he signs the funding legislation.
