Senator Scott Introduces Protect Kids Act

The legislation would keep parents in the loop regarding gender transitions.

Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina introduced the Protect Kids Act on Tuesday. The legislation would deny federal funds from public elementary and middle schools that do not first get parental consent before addressing a student by a different pronoun or name.

The act would also require any school receiving federal funding to seek and obtain consent from a student’s parent prior to changing the child’s name on official documents. The funding ban would apply to schools that do not receive parental consent before addressing the student by pronouns apart from their biological sex or letting the student use a different gender bathroom and locker room facilities.

“Schools exist to educate children—not indoctrinate them,” Senator Scott said. “A quality education requires input from those who know children best: their parents. Sadly, radical and secretive gender policies have shut parents out of the conversation and broken their trust.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Senator Scott as he endeavors to shield children from covert attempts to gender transition.
  • For wisdom for members of the Senate as they consider the legislation.
  • For the president and the secretaries of health and of education as they implement transgender policies.
