USDA Coordinating Infant Formula Distribution

Department working with manufacturers to get formula to WIC families.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) agreed to extend flexible funding in the distribution of infant formula to families in the supplemental nutrition program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). State agencies and formula manufacturers are able to work together to provide services and options for families in need. This extension is through the end of October with the USDA covering the additional cost of the non-contract formula.

“USDA is committed to maintaining flexibilities to provide continued support to WIC families as the nationwide supply of infant formula recovers,” Secretary Vilsack said. “WIC families are counting on us, and while the supply of infant formula is improving, the extended flexibilities will make sure WIC families can find the formula they need for their babies.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the USDA secretary as he works with state and manufacturing officials to accelerate formula distribution.
  • For Administrator Long as she oversees the Food and Nutrition Service.
