State Department Approves $1.95 Billion Black Hawk Sale

40 UH-60M helicopters to be sold to Australia.

The Department of State has approved the sale of 40 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters to the Australian Army for $1.95 billion. The department’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency is overseeing the sale and says that maintaining an “appropriate level of readiness” in Australia will bolster the effectiveness of combined operations in the region.

“The UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter will improve the Australian Army’s ability to deploy combat power to share Australia’s strategic environment, deter actions against its interests, and, when required, respond with credible force. Australia will have no difficulty absorbing this equipment into its armed forces,” the agency stated.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for Secretary Blinken as he reviews the collaborations of the Defense Department with foreign armed forces.
  • For Secretary Austin to be discerning in operations and cooperative exercises with foreign militaries.
  • For U.S. officials as they seek to strengthen partnerships with international allies.
