Saturday, August 13

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden remain on vacation in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. The president has no public events scheduled on his agenda at this time.

On Friday, the House of Representatives voted on and passed the Inflation Reduction Act. The $740 billion measure is a major part of the president’s agenda which is intended to lower prescription drug prices, address global warming, and raise corporate taxes.

Vice President Kamala Harris said the bill “will lower the cost of prescription drugs for our seniors and reduce health insurance premiums for 13 million Americans.“ She added that the legislation “will make the largest investment in our nation’s history to address the climate crisis, creating good-paying, union jobs in wind, solar, and electric vehicle manufacturing. We will lower energy bills for working families and support environmental justice.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Lord to accomplish His purpose through the measures passed by Congress.
  • For the safety of the president and first lady during their vacation in South Carolina.
  • For the president as he prepared to sign the Inflation Reduction Act in the coming week.
