Transportation Department Funds Veteran Truck Driving Programs

$3.1 million awarded to colleges and training institutes.

The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has announced that $3.1 million in grants is being awarded to commercial driver’s license training for veterans. Community colleges and training institutes are able to apply for funding for the 2022 Fiscal Year through the Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training Grant Program.

“Veterans know how to get things where they need to go safely. At a time when our supply chain depends on having more qualified truck drivers, this program will give those who have served in uniform a new and important way to contribute, and benefit, by launching a new career in this vital industry,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For U.S. transportation officials as they award funds to train veterans in commercial truck driving.
  • That Secretary Pete Buttigieg would seek the Lord for wisdom and direction in his role.
  • For the veterans who will participate in the CDL training.
