George Washington Memorial Parkway Rehabilitation Begins

Scenic roadway to receive $161 million update through Interior Department.

The National Park Service participated in a groundbreaking ceremony last week, kicking off the $161 million effort to rehabilitate the northern section of the George Washington Memorial Parkway. The project was approved through the Great American Outdoors Act and will restore nearly 9.5 miles of the scenic roadway.

Secretary Deb Haaland commended the restoration project, saying, “The Biden-Harris administration is demonstrating our concerted effort to address extensive deferred maintenance and repairs that will support good paying jobs, safeguard the environment, and help ensure that we are ready to meet the challenges of climate change.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Haaland to seek God’s guidance as she oversees projects that restore memorials and monuments.
  • For wisdom for the president and members of his administration as they allot funds under the Great American Outdoors Act.
  • That the government funding for infrastructure would be efficiently used and bring benefits to Americans at large
