Health Secretary Expresses Support for Reproductive Rights

The department will take steps to ensure access to abortion.

Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra spoke this past week about his department’s strategy in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. The health secretary said his department will consider every option to help women and increase access to medication abortion.

“We will take a look at everything we can, and everything we do will be in compliance with the law,” Secretary Becerra said. In line with the ruling, “the rights continue forward, whether it’s family planning, whether it is in birth control services, and we want to make sure that there’s no misunderstanding and that we will enforce any violations of those rights.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Becerra’s heart to be touched by God to see all aspects of the termination of pregnancies.
  • For the president and his administration to be cautious to uphold the law as they pursue actions and measures regarding abortion.
  • For God’s protection for workers at pro-life and crisis pregnancy centers as protests continue.
