Today is the final day of the G7 Summit at Schloss Elmau in Krün, Germany. President Joe Biden will be meeting with leaders from France, Germany, and Great Britain before he speaks at the final session.

The president will then travel to Spain for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit in Madrid. The heads of state of the member countries will be discussing how best to support Ukraine in the ongoing war with Russia as well as the support and facilitation of the applications of Finland and Sweden to the organization.

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated, “The goal is to create as much positive momentum as we can behind the candidacies of Finland and Sweden. I am not sitting here today suggesting that all issues will be resolved by Madrid, but we’re going to try and resolve as many of them as possible so that Madrid gives a boost to their candidacies, even if there remains some concerns on the part of Turkey that need to be worked out.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for the heads of state of NATO member nations as they support Sweden and Finland applying for membership.
  • For the president and his advisors to seek God’s guidance on foreign policy.
  • For U.S. and NATO officials to be discerning as they continue to apply pressure on Russia as that country defaults on foreign debt.
