VA Enhances Legal Services for Veterans

Publishes an Interim Final Rule to help veterans who are at-risk.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has announced the publishing of an Interim Final Rule to help address and prevent homelessness among veterans. The rule will establish a grant program to fund legal services for homeless veterans and veterans at risk for homelessness both within and on top of already present homeless service programs. Once the program has been approved, grant applications will open around September 2022.

“Providing full access to justice and legal services for Veterans takes unified, inter-agency partnerships, from the Federal level down to states, cities and communities at the grassroots-level where Veterans work and live,” said Secretary Denis McDonough. “This first-of-its-kind grant will ensure that legal services are available nationwide to Veterans in need.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary McDonough to seek God’s wisdom as he implements strategies to address homelessness among veterans.
  • For HUD officials as their department supports housing efforts for veterans.
  • For the president and his administration as they craft solutions for issues veterans face.
