Build America Bureau Financing Rural Road Safety Projects

The funding will support eight Oklahoma counties’ infrastructure projects.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has announced financing for 49 percent of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) Rural Two-Lane Advancement And Management Plan (RAAMP). The low-interest, long-term infrastructure loan of $41.55 million is being made under the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act provided by the Transportation Department’s Build America Bureau.

“Over the last five years, 38 percent of all serious and fatal crashes in Oklahoma have occurred on rural roads with no shoulders,” said Deputy Transportation Secretary Polly Trottenberg. “US DOT is proud to support the RAAMP program to help address safety issues and save lives in Oklahoma.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Deputy Secretary Trottenberg as she fulfills her role in the Transportation Department.
  • For transportation officials as they support infrastructure in rural locations.
  • That members of the Build America Bureau would have wisdom as they award loans for infrastructure projects across the nation.
