White House to Begin Paying Interns

Fall interns to be paid $750 per week.

The White House announced on Thursday that starting this fall, they will begin paying their interns for their work during their tenures. They will be paid $750 per week in two installments. President Biden’s administration hopes that this change will make high-quality internships more accessible to lower-income students, who often have to pass up internship opportunities in order to fully fund their own educations.

“Too often, unpaid federal internships have been a barrier to hardworking and talented students and professionals, preventing them from contributing their talents and skills to the country and holding them back from federal career advancement opportunities,” Press Secretary Jean-Pierre stated.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his administration as they seek quality interns for the fall.
  • For discernment for the president and OMB Director Young as they increase allotments of federal funds.
