Interior Department Recognizes Missing Indigenous Persons Day

Announces Not Invisible Act Commission members.

To recognize National Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland hosted a virtual event last week highlighting the Not Invisible Act Commission. Established through the Not Invisible Act, the commission advises the Departments of the Interior and Justice on actions to take to address the epidemic of murdered, kidnapped, and trafficked Native Americans in the United States.

“As we work with the Department of Justice to prioritize the national crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous peoples, the Not Invisible Act Commission will help address its underlying roots by ensuring the voices of those impacted by violence against Native people are included in our quest to implement solutions,” said Secretary Haaland.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Lord to work through the joint commission of the Justice and Interior Department to protect vulnerable Native Americans.
  • That Secretary Haaland would be used by God to lead the Interior Department well.
  • For Native American leaders as they contribute to efforts to reduce violence among tribal nations.
