Tuesday, April 19

Today, President Joe Biden is traveling to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He will be promoting infrastructure projects and investments.

The president will celebrate the completion of the dredging and expansion of the Piscataqua River turning basin to support shipping into Portsmouth Harbor under the infrastructure legislation.

Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, the nation’s oldest public shipyard, is slated to receive $1.7 billion for dry dock expansion under the infrastructure bill. The expansion will allow the shipyard to maintain Virginia-class submarines. It currently only accommodates Los Angeles-class subs. Water treatment, water line replacement, sewer updates, and footbridge reconstruction are also included in the federal infrastructure funding to the region.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for the president as he outlines and promotes the infrastructure plans for the Portsmouth area.
  • For safety for the president as he travels to New Hampshire.
  • For Transportation Secretary Buttigieg as he oversees federal infrastructure investments and collaborates with other federal departments and secretaries.
