President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are taking part in the traditional White House Easter Egg Roll. Both of them are expected to deliver remarks and meet with attendees. According to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, “In total, approximately 30,000 people will take part in this year’s Easter ‘EGGucation’ Roll, including thousands of military families, and the crew members and families from the U.S.S. Delaware, the U.S. Naval Submarine, for which the First Lady is the sponsor.”

As part of his Easter address, the president said, “Once again, Holy Week has taken us on a journey from sorrow to salvation. As we reflect today on Christ’s Resurrection, we are reminded that with faith, hope, and love — even death can be defeated.” He added, “We know this Holy Day falls on heavy hearts for those who have lost loved ones and those among us living in the dark shadow of war, persecution, and poverty. On this day and each day, we pray for them, and for peace, freedom, and the basic dignity and respect for all of God’s children. As we look ahead with His blessing, may we share a common hope for the future, reaffirm love and compassion for one another, and cherish the blessing of the dawn of new possibilities.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom and grace for the president and first lady host the Easter Egg Roll at the White House.
  • For encouragement and strength for all the military families attending the event today while their loved ones serve abroad.
  • For God to use the traditional and ceremonial events at the White House to accomplish His will in and through the nation’s leaders.
