Commerce Department Blocks Russian Airline Export Privileges

Issues three Temporary Denial Orders for 180 days.

On Thursday, the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security ordered the enactment of three Temporary Denial Orders (TDOs) against three Russian Airlines. These orders ban the companies Aeroflot, Azur Air, and UTair from participating in all export-related transactions for 180 days. The TDOs may be renewed after that period if the Commerce Department deems it necessary.

“With today’s temporary denial orders, the Department of Commerce takes another significant action to hold Putin and his enablers accountable for their inexcusable actions,” said Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo. “Any companies that flout our export controls, specifically those who do so to the benefit of Vladimir Putin and the detriment of the Ukrainian people, will feel the full force of the Department’s enforcement.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his administration to look to the Lord for leading in dealing with Russia.
  • For Secretary Raimondo to be discerning as she heads the Commerce Department.
  • For peace in Ukraine and the stability of Eastern Europe.
