Friday, April 1

This morning, President Joe Biden will speak from the White House about the March jobs report released by the Labor Department.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics is expected to announce an increase of 450,000 to 470,000 jobs in the month of March, a decrease from 678,000 reported in February.

On Thursday, the department released unemployment claims for the past week, which had risen to 202,000. The current trajectory leads economists to estimate that the nation will arrive at pre-pandemic levels of employment sometime in June.

The president will depart this afternoon for Delaware, where he will be spending the weekend.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his economic advisors as they evaluate employment data.
  • For Secretary Walsh to seek God’s direction as he heads the Labor Department.
  • With gratitude to the Lord for the recovery the job market has been making as the pandemic recedes.
  • For wisdom the president’s administration as they pursue th increased unionization of the labor force.
