Department of Commerce Meets with Uzbekistan

Deputy leaders discuss mutual economic goals.

The Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves spoke with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Sardor Umurzakov last week. They discussed Uzbekistan’s commercial relationship with the United States, the economic sovereignty of each country, and ways that their mutual goals could be achieved through reciprocal economic efforts.

“Deputy Secretary Graves nominated energy-efficient technologies and waste management as topics for further engagement between [International Trade Administration] and [Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investments],” stated the department’s press secretary. “The Deputy Secretary also confirmed Department of Commerce staff will accompany U.S. companies attending the upcoming Tashkent International Investment Forum scheduled to take place later this month.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Deputy Secretary Graves to seek God’s discernment as he interacts with economic officials in other nations.
  • For Secretary Raimondo to be led by the Lord as she heads the Commerce Department.
  • For wisdom for U.S. commerce, economic, and trade officials as they advise the president.
