President Joe Biden will meet with President Sauli Niinisto of Finland today. The two leaders will discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the experience the Finnish president has with President Vladimir Putin.

President Niinisto recently said, “If Russia sees a success story for them, that makes them more dangerous.” He also stated that “the European Union is more united than ever” and that he believes Russian leadership will be surprised by this unity.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is traveling to Belgium, Poland, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia this week. The State Department announced the U.S. secretary will begin the trip “in Brussels, Belgium where he will participate in a NATO Foreign Ministerial, meet with EU counterparts, participate in a G7 Ministerial Meeting, and hold additional meetings with partners to discuss the global response to Russia’s invasion, including Allies’ and partners’ continued coordination on imposing massive consequences and severe economic costs on Russia.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Biden and President Niinisto to seek God’s leading in response to the conflict in Ukraine.
  • For discernment for the two heads of state as they collaborate on next steps regarding Russia.
  • For safety for Secretary Blinken as he travels through Eastern Europe.
  • For wisdom for the secretary of state as he engages in discussions regarding Russia and Ukraine.
