President Promotes Great Lakes Restoration

$1 billion in infrastructure funding to support clean-up.

On Thursday, President Joe Biden traveled to Cleveland and Lorain, Ohio, to promote the plan to fund clean-up efforts along the Great Lakes with $1 billion from his infrastructure legislation.

“For decades there was a lot of talk, a lot of plans but very little progress. It was slow. That changes today,” said the president. He added regarding the funding, “It’s going to allow for the most significant restoration of the Great Lakes in the history of the Great Lakes. We are going to accelerate cleanup of sites in six states in the Great Lakes basin.”

White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated, “Thanks to these investments, we are tackling climate change, strengthening our nation’s resilience to extreme weather, and providing clean drinking water, all while creating good-paying union jobs.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president to seek God’s wisdom as funds are allotted from the infrastructure legislation.
  • For discernment for federal officials as they fund infrastructure programs across the nation.
  • For the president’s administration as they work to protect the environment and address climate issues.
