Today, President Joe Biden will host Qatar’s Amir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the White House. Together, they will discuss the relationship between the United States and Qatar and examine ways to further improve the partnership between the two countries.

According to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, “The visit provides an opportunity for the president and amir to consult on a range of regional and global issues of mutual interest, including promoting security and prosperity in the Gulf and broader Middle East region, ensuring the stability of global energy supplies, supporting the people of Afghanistan, and strengthening commercial and investment cooperation between our countries.”

She added that “the President will also thank Amir Tamim for Qatar’s extraordinary and ongoing effort to ensure the safe transit from Afghanistan of U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and Afghan partners. The president looks forward to this important visit and affirming the strong partnership between the United States and Qatar.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president to seek God’s wisdom as he navigates the complexity of foreign policy and relationships with foreign nations.
  • For God to use the meeting between the president and amir to accomplish His will in the Middle East.
  • For safety and protection for all U.S. citizens still in the region.
