Federal Court Considering Texas Abortion Bill

The Supreme Court returned the case to the lower court.

The Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is holding a hearing today on what should come next in a lawsuit filed by abortion clinics challenging a Texas law that bans abortions after six weeks. The Supreme Court returned the case to the Fifth Circuit.

The legal issues are technical, but the question is whether or not abortion providers will have any means in coming months to potentially block enforcement of the Texas law.

Implications of the ruling of the appeals court could extend to laws that have been passed in other states. The case could ultimately return to the Supreme Court.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For seventeen judges in the Fifth Circuit appellate court to seek God’s direction as they consider the abortion case.
  • For justices of the Supreme Court as they determine with cases to hear and which cases to send back to the appeals courts.
  • For God’s will to be accomplished and His name be glorified through the rulings and decisions of the federal courts of our nation.
