Pentagon Releases Anti-Extremism Rules

Seeks to clarify acceptable behavior in the ranks.

The Defense Department released new guidelines on Monday designed to address the growing threat of extremism within the ranks of the military. Among the rules are clarifications of actions that are prohibited since they constitute supporting organizations that call for breaking the constitution. One of the newly prohibited activities is “liking” content on social media that is associated with extremist groups.

Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby explained the new rules saying, “The physical act of liking is, of course, advocating, right? And advocating for extremist groups, groups that advocate violating their oath to the Constitution, overthrow the government, terrorist activities, liking is an advocation and that’s laid out clearly in the instruction.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Austin to have discernment as he leads the Defense Department.
  • That Pentagon officials would be wise in their approach to reducing extremism in the military.
  • For the president tp look to the Lord for guidance as commander in chief.
