Senator Bob Dole Lies in State

The ceremony honors the former presidential candidate, Congressman, and World War II veteran.

Today, former Senator Bob Dole is receiving one of the nation’s highest honors of lying in state at the Capitol Building. The Senator was 98 years old when he passed away over the weekend. Senator Dole served in Congress for 36 years, and was a veteran of World War II, receiving two purple hearts.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi praised his service to the country saying, “Senator Dole was an extraordinary patriot, who devoted his entire life to serving our nation with dignity and integrity.” The service of remembrance is taking place today before his remains are transported to his final resting place.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Lord to be glorified through the memory ad legacy of Senator Dole.
  • That the Lord would be near to the family of the late Senator.
  • For God to give Congress wisdom in order that they may do what is in the best interest of America.
