Interior Secretary Meets with Youth on Climate Change

Q&A held as part of the climate summit.

On Thursday, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland hosted a Q& A session with indigenous youth around the world as a part of the United Nation’s climate summit in the UK. Secretary Haaland sought to learn how climate change is currently affecting their lives, as well as how the young people would like their leaders to respond to climate challenges.

While speaking to the students, Secretary Haaland said, “We all have a lot of work to do, but I want young people to know that every time I consider the impacts of decisions we make at the Department of the Interior, I think about the generations to come who will have to live with that decision. Today, we are at the turning point and though we face the climate crisis, the voices that are here today give me hope for the future.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Haaland to have discernment as she seeks input on climate change.
  • For the officials of the Interior Department as they address climate change.
  • For the president and his advisors as energy policies and programs are implemented.
