NHTSA to Open Probe of Diesel Ram Trucks

Reports of fuel pump failures in 2018-2020 diesel trucks prompt investigation.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that it would be investigating high-pressure fuel pump failures in diesel Ram trucks produced from 2018 through 2020. Nearly two dozen reports to NHTSA of fuel pump failures have prompted the federal probe.

While the pumps shutting off has caused engines to lose power or stall, no crashes or injuries have been reported due to the problem. The fuel pump issue has disabled trucks traveling at speeds over 25 miles per hour. The manufacturer, Stellantis, is cooperating with the government’s investigation, which could result in a recall.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For NHTSA Director Jack Danielson as he heads his agency.
  • For federal officials’ as they endeavor to protect the driving public and investigate the fuel pump issue.
