Pentagon Arms Sales Director to Retire

Organizational changes have contributed to her decision.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced on Tuesday that Director Heidi Grant will be retiring next month. The Pentagon’s director of international arms sales has been in her role for 15 months. Her decision comes as the president’s administration is implementing a new organizational model for the agency. She has had 32 years of military-related service.

Deputy Director Jed Royal will become acting DSCA director as of November 7. Mr. Royal has served in the Defense Department and White House National Security Agency in addition to serving as the U.S. representative to NATO for defense policy, capability, planning, deterrence, burden sharing, and partnership matters.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For officials in the DSCA as the agency is reorganized.
  • For the director as she transitions out of her position and for the deputy director as he assumes the role.
  • For those within the administration making decisions whether or not to sell weapons and arms to foreign allies.
