Petitions Reviewed to Mark Gray Wolf “Endangered” Again

Interior Department finds evidence presented in petitions “credible information.”

Two petitions were sent to the Interior Department in June and July, each requesting that gray wolves be marked as “endangered” again. They compiled recent information about specific populations in the Rocky Mountains, which the Interior Department announced on Wednesday does warrant an official review on the listing of gray wolves.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service released a statement along with the announcement, saying, “The Service finds the petitioners present substantial information that potential increases in human-caused mortality may pose a threat to the gray wolf in the western U.S. Therefore, the Service finds that gray wolves in the western U.S. may warrant listing.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Interior Department as they review the current status of gray wolves.
  • That officials in the Fish and Wildlife Service would seek God’s direction in caring for the animals.
