President Visits New Orleans After Hurricane Ida

Advocates for infrastructure bill to help rebuild

President Biden visited locations hard hit by Hurricane Ida in Louisiana on Friday. He was met by the Governor Edwards of Louisiana and other state and local leaders. Together, they visited disaster relief sites and spoke with residents along the way, visiting with local officials afterward to discuss how best to aid in recovery and rebuilding.

At these discussions, President Biden pointed to his proposed infrastructure bill as a potential way to help New Orleans mend the destruction. “It seems to me we can save a whole lot of money, a whole lot of pain for our constituents, if we build back, rebuild it back in a better way,” the president said. “I realize I’m selling as I’m talking.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president as he works to ensure that states experiencing emergencies due to the hurricane get the aid they need.
  • For Louisiana’s leaders as efforts are made to care for residents and rebuild.
