President Joe Biden will be at the White House today and will meet with security experts on increasing national cybersecurity. Following a number of major ransomware attacks on vital infrastructure systems across the U.S., the president will host a meeting to discuss ways to address the uptick in recent cyber-attacks. CEO’s from Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, IBM, and other major tech organizations are expected to attend.

On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki gave an update on the developments in Afghanistan. She stated, during the G7 meeting with global partners, “the president conveyed that our mission in Kabul will end based on the achievement of our objectives. He confirmed we are currently on pace to finish by August 31st and provided an update on progress in evacuating Americans who want to come home, third-country nationals, and Afghans who were our allies during the war.”

The press secretary added, “He also made clear that with each day of operations on the ground, we have added risk to our troops with increasing threats from ISIS-K, and that completion of the mission by August 31st depends on continued coordination with the Taliban, including continued access for evacuees to the airport. In addition, the President has asked the Pentagon and the State Department for contingency plans to adjust the timeline should that become necessary.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his advisors’ efforts are made to increase the nation’s cybersecurity.
  • For the military and civilian personnel working to get Americans and others on flights out of Kabul.
  • For discernment for the president and his administration as they coordinate with U.S. allies in Afghanistan.
