Senate Moves Infrastructure Bill Forward

Final bill language to be determined.

On Wednesday, the Senate voted 67-32 to move the much-discussed infrastructure bill forward to the Senate floor for debate. If such a vote holds through the discussion of the bill, it would be able to overcome any threat of a filibuster. Details of the bill have yet to be finalized but both sides of the political aisle expressed optimism that a bipartisan bill could be passed in the coming weeks.

President Biden said of the progress, “This deal signals to the world that our democracy can function, deliver, and do big things. As we did with the transcontinental railroad and the interstate highway, we will once again transform America and propel us into the future.” The final cost of the bill has yet to be determined by Congress.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For senators as the discussion on the infrastructure legislation continues.
  • For Congress to have wisdom on how to vote on this measure.
  • For members of Congress to fully understand the impact and cost to fund the bill.
