House Bill Excludes Hyde Amendment

The legislation would require tax-payer-funded abortions.

A bill that would force American tax dollars to pay for abortions is moving forward in Congress.

House members voted to eliminate the Hyde Amendment, the long-standing legislative provision that ensures U.S. taxpayer money doesn’t go to funding abortions. For more than 40 years, it has had bipartisan support. But 32 out of 33 partisans on the House Appropriations Committee voted to eliminate the amendment, rejecting the conscience rights of pro-life Americans.

President Biden had been a strong supporter of the Hyde Amendment while in Congress, but he’s reversed that position since becoming president.

Any protections for the Hyde Amendment now rest with the Senate.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Senate as they consider the bill passed by the House.
  • For members of Congress as attempts are made to remove or change existing laws and amendments.
  • For U.S. officials in government who seek to protect the lives of the unborn.
