On Monday, President Joe Biden is welcoming Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin to the White House. According to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, “President Rivlin’s visit will highlight the enduring partnership between the United States and Israel and the deep ties between our governments and our people.” She added, “It will be an opportunity to consult about the many challenges and opportunities facing the region.”

President Rivlin’s seven-year term as the president of Israel will come to an end in July. He will be succeeded, by Isaac Herzog. Secretary Psaki continued, “this visit will honor the dedication he has shown to strengthening the friendship between the two countries over the course of many years.”

Ahead of boarding the flight to the United States, President Rivlin said, “I am leaving Israel for the last time as a sitting President for a farewell visit to Israel’s closest friend – the United States.” He concluded, “I will meet with President Joe Biden, a true friend of Israel for many years, to thank him for his genuine care for Israel’s security. At the UN, I will hold a series of meetings to discuss regional issues.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to continue to be at work through the relationship between the U.S. and Israel.
  • For the president to seek God’s wisdom as he meets with Israel’s President Rivlin, today.
  • For both of the nations’ leaders as they prepare for the transition in Israel’s presidency.
