Reports of heart inflammation in your adults 2x higher than anticipated.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention press officer Scott Pauley announced that the health agency will be holding an emergency meeting regarding reports of cardiac inflammation after COVID-19 mRNA injections. Updates will be presented on myocarditis and pericarditis in adults under 30 that have been experienced twice as often as the Food and Drug Administration had projected in its safety assessment.
“We clearly have an imbalance there,” said Dr. Tom Shimabukuro, deputy director of the CDC’s Immunization Safety Office. “It’s a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison because, again, these are preliminary reports. Not all these will turn out to be true myocarditis or pericarditis reports.” Of the 226 reported cases, the majority have recovered after a trip to the hospital.
