Completion

He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. – Philippians 1:6

If you ever had trouble completing a big project such as painting a house, writing a novel, or earning a diploma, the thought of the Heavenly Father beginning a good work in you and completing it is an awesome one. Reflect on the commitment it takes to go through the ups and downs of completing the work. You have accepted Jesus as your Savior. Now, the Father is determined to accomplish His will in and through you.

When you received Jesus as your Savior, He gave you the gift of the Spirit who works in you to produce godly character. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23). What good work He is doing in you!

While you are on this Earth you are called to good works. What have you been called to do? What needs break your heart? What needs do you have the ability to meet? The Father works in a willing heart. He also calls you to pray. Prayer aligns your heart with God’s and prepares you to carry out His will on the earth. While He is sovereign, prayer allows Him to manifest His will in and through you personally.

Like the book of Esther teaches, the will of God will be accomplished. It is up to you to be available to Him. Pray for God’s purposes to be fulfilled in this country. Pray for the salvation of souls and the unity of the body of Christ.

Today’s Verse: Philippians 1:6

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
