Interior Announces First Offshore Wind Power Project

Vineyard Wind project expected to power 400,000 homes.

The Department of the Interior announced on Tuesday that it would be moving forward with the president’s plan to expand the nation’s green energy future with the first major offshore wind project in the United States. The Vineyard Wind energy project is projected to generate 800 megawatts – enough to power 400,000 homes. President Biden has set a goal to produce enough energy to power 10 million homes with offshore wind production by 2030.

Secretary Deb Haaland presented the importance of the new plan saying, “A clean energy future is within our grasp in the United States. The approval of this project is an important step toward advancing the Administration’s goals to create good-paying union jobs while combating climate change and powering our nation.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to accomplish His purpose as the federal government proceeds with wind energy development.
  • That the president and his administration would seek God’s guidance as they respond to the nation’s needs.
  • For the Lord to give Secretary Haaland discernment as she manages this project.
