States with Higher Demand to Receive More Vaccine Doses

President’s administration aims to have 70% of adults vaccinated by July 4.

On Tuesday, President Biden announced a new goal of vaccinating 160 million adults by July 4th this year. The goal would bring the total number of vaccinated Americans to 70% of the adult population. This will be accomplished by adjusting distribution models, which were initially based on population, to focus on areas with the highest demand for the vaccines. Currently, 56% of Americans have received at least their first dose of the vaccine.

The CDC has begun to see a dropoff from some states no longer ordering their full orders of the vaccine, as fewer people have begun treatment. The president’s administration will shift doses to states that have a higher demand in order to meet the July 4th goal. The FDA is also expected to approve vaccination of children aged 12-15 within the next two weeks, allowing for more Americans to receive doses.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his administration to have discernment in their approach to the waning pandemic.
  • That the CDC and FDA would obtain the most up-to-date information to inform decision making.
