President Wishes a Blessed Easter to Orthodox Christians

Distributes wooden easter eggs to mark occasion.

On Sunday, President Biden addressed Orthodox Christians who were celebrating their tradition’s Easter Sunday. He said, “Jill and I extend warm wishes to all our friends in the Orthodox Christian community observing Easter. On this occasion of joy and renewal, Orthodox Christians worldwide rejoice in the miracle of the Resurrection and affirm commitments to spiritual disciplines and service to those in need.”

The president noted that many had to modify their celebration for a second year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He said, “Thanks to the leadership of countless people, including so many people of faith, the progress we are making in our battle against the virus will soon allow for a return to our timeless and treasured traditions of Easter and other holidays.” The White House also sent packages to local vaccination sites to distribute commemorative wooden easter eggs.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would bring the hope of resurrection to the hearts of all our elected leaders.
  • For the president and first lady to seek the Lord as they promote the administration’s agenda.
